Invitation: Join the OLLI Science Discussion Club

Would you like to meet and talk with other people who are interested in science? Do you want to keep up with new scientific developments, as well as social and political events that affect science?

You are invited to participate in monthly discussions of feature articles in the esteemed science magazine Scientific American, America's oldest continuously published magazine (founded in 1845). The OLLI Science Discussion Club is a special-interest group for members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Southern Maine (OLLI-USM). Participants read the articles that interest them in the current month's Scientific American, and then discuss their thoughts and questions in a cordial setting.

The OLLI Science Discussion Club meets monthly in Wishcamper Center on USM's Portland campus. Check HERE for current meeting day, time, and room. The meeting date affords participants almost a full month to obtain and read the issue under discussion. Most of the members subscribe to the magazine, but some obtain it on news stands or in a local library.

Participants must be members of OLLI.
